Once you have submitted your urine sample for analysis, it will be sent off to the local laboratory or a hospital laboratory if you are an in-patient or outpatient.

The standard length of time for a laboratory culture analysis is around 18-24 hours. Your sample may not immediately be sent to the laboratory but rely on a once-daily collection from the GP surgery.
